OH YES, WE DID!
August 25, 2021 | Cancún, Mexico
On August 25, 2021, we joined our love together with a private ceremony on the beach in Cancún, Mexico. We began our lives together in a way that makes the most sense for us, happy, stress-free, and entirely in love.
Words cannot express how thankful we are for the love and support shown by so many of our family members when we told them the news after our arrival in the US.

FUN FACTS
Are you still planning a wedding for June 2022? No.
Did anybody know you were getting married in Cancún? No.
Not even family knew? Nope!
Did you book your vacation to Cancún with getting married in mind? No.
When did you decide to get married in Cancún? Two weeks before our trip.
Was your marriage legal? Yes.
Why did you decide to get married in Cancún?
At the end of the day, a wedding is about the two people getting married and the love they have for each other. Our lives together have been an adventure so far, so why not have that special commitment be another adventure? We have always done things just the 2 of us and we didn’t feel that our wedding should be any different.
Did Tabitha already have a dress?
No. I bought the dress off the rack less than a week before we left.
Why didn't you tell anyone?
We wanted a day that was focused on our love. Since we decided to get married so close to the trip, we planned the few pieces needed and went with the flow. Every piece of the process was stress-free and super simple.
Is Tabitha Pregnant? HECK NO!
Did you have music?
Yes. Tabitha walked down the aisle to an acoustic version of Can't Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley and we kissed and celebrated at the end with a song by Bassjackers called All My Life. .

Her Words
Every time I think back to how much I cried, I feel embarrassed but can't help but laugh. Everything about our wedding was amazing and I loved being able to focus on Nick and the love I have for him. If I could do it again, I wouldn't change a thing.

His Words
I always told Tabitha that I would marry her one day so I'm happy I was finally able to do that. I probably cried more than her but it was an amazing day.

OUR DAY
The Goal: We didn't want to see each other before the ceremony. We designated areas of the resort and relaxed alone all day. It was tough for Tabitha but in the end, they never saw each other.
8:00 a.m. - Nick woke up and left the room. He hung out at the pool most of the day.
2:00 pm. - Hair & makeup
4:00 p.m. - Received bouquet & boutonnière
5:00 p.m. - Ceremony, photos then shots with random people around the resort.
6:30 p.m. - Dinner
7:30 p.m. - Cake cutting

OUR FUTURE
LOVE FOR A LIFETIME
By May 2022, we will both be done with school and plan to start our next journey together. New jobs, a single roof over our heads, and possibly even living in a new state could all be part of 2022. We plan to have a graduation cookout and wedding celebration in late May or early June. Although we may not be able to invite everybody, we want to let you all know that we love you all and we are grateful for your love and support.
2022 UPDATE
WOW! It's been a great year. In May of 2022 we had a great graduation party and surprised our families by wearing our wedding attire and saying our vows. At this celebration we announced that Nick received a job in Florida and that we would be moving. In June of 2022 we went on a 2 week vacation to Bora Bora for our honeymoon and it was so much fun! On August 21st, we closed on our home in Tallahassee Florida and are thrilled to make this house a home.
2025 UPDATE
I don’t even know where to start! Tallahassee has been so good to us! We’ve made so many memories and found such great friends here. Our home feels just right, and every year it gets filled with more laughter (and more decorations). We even started hosting an annual Christmas party, which has become one of our favorite traditions. In 2023, we actually won the neighborhood Christmas decorating contest, and then in 2024 we sat out to give someone else a chance at the glory. The weather down here is pretty perfect, at least for us. It’s hot sometimes, but we definitely don’t miss the cold and snow. Nash might still miss the cold a little, but we sure don’t! Since buying our home, we’ve shared in some really special milestones - celebrating birthdays, welcoming new family members, and supporting each other through some hard losses too. Through it all, Nash has become a road-trip pro. He loves the long drives when we head north to visit family and friends. And the travel… wow. We’ve packed so much into just a few years. Over 4 cruises, a bucket-list trip to the Galápagos with Memaw and Bamps, a birthday getaway to Cancun for my 30th, and most recently, an anniversary trip to St. Lucia for our 4th. Every adventure makes us more grateful for our hard work. As for the future, it still feels wide open and in our hands. Every day, we look forward to what’s next, whether it’s a small tradition at home, another adventure away, or just more time together.
